The Channel Of Hope Foundation Inc. is a non profit organization incorporated with SEC on Dec 7 1998. It is tax exempt and the following are the stated purposes of the foundation:
The full time members of Channel Of Hope Foundation, are volunteers who raise their own support and living expenses and dedicate their time and resources daily to fulfilling the objectives stated below, and specifically the projects listed.
To serve the poor, the needy and the otherwise disadvantaged, and to strive to respond to all peoples in need regardless of race, religion, national origin or social position.
To visit institutions such as day care centers, drug rehabilitation centers, correctional institutions, homes for the aged and orphanages. To provide counseling, comfort and encouragement to the residents in these institutions and centers and also to others in need.
To collect and to distribute donations, monetary and in kind to the needy and disadvantaged, and to institutions.
To help educate urban poor children in day care centers with educational materials, and personal assistance to the teachers.
To convey a message of hope to people who are suffering and needing comfort and encouragement.
To strengthen communities, families and children.
To produce and distribute inspirational and character building audio and video materials for children and families.
To print and distribute Christian literature and devotional materials and books.
To sponsor educational opportunities for children and young people with the goal to promote family and Christian values.
To engage in evangelism through bible studies and seminars.
Below are listed some of our regular projects.
- Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City, where we conduct a Bible study with some of the inmates there every Saturday.
- Pediatric Cancer Ward. UP-PGH; Weekly visitation to the Munting Paraiso sector, for children with cancer; organizing special activities, sponsorship for indigent families etc
- Poor daycare centers. Ongoing donations of goods and educational materials, to over 200 day care centers in Paranaque, Taguig, Marikina, Mindoro, Tacloban and Bicol. An average of 2000 children are helped through these programs each year.
- Haven for abused Women: Bi-weekly classes on motherhood and parenting, we also provide food and other resources for these women to be used in their lively hood projects and programs.
- Disaster relief programs: Over the last 3 years we have conducted over 10 disaster relief missions including 6 to the area of Leyte most affected by Typhoon Yolanda. We have also helped in Bohol earthquake area, Compostela valley, in Mindanao and many areas around Metro Manila affected by Flooding.
Some of our other projects have included:
- Dental missions each year for the last 5 years targeting around 300 children each mission
- Seminars with 4 year High school students with the aim of providing character building and vision for higher education goals
- Bi-yearly visits to the home for the aged in Marikina where about 420 elderly reside
- 5 years of weekly counseling and Bible studies to the Paranaque Anti-drug abuse Council.
This is just a small sampling of our projects and we hope this gives a general idea of the level of activity and dedication we at Channel Of Hope Foundation are committed to.
We are currently involved in a first time project of building a small day care center in Barangay South Daang Hari, Taguig City, with the goal of providing access to preschool education to around 80 indigent children each year.
